PCL Printer drivers are basically a set of small programs able to create an interface between your printer and the operating system on your personal computer.
About Printer and Scanner PCL (Printer Command Language) Packages: Added CAT (Catalog) files which were released from Microsoft (WHQL). The existence of this driver on the system can cause Photoshop CS3 to hang. It is known to affect at least Internet Explorer, Notepad and Adobe Reader.
Some default settings such as Color/Black and White, Ignore Application Collate and Duplex are overwritten by the settings of other drivers installed on the system. Device Accessories are not inherited by Point and Print clients running Windows Vista, Windows 2008 or Windows 7.
